ABOUT THE ARTIST

Although I studied in Management Advertising and worked in the Corporate World for 14 years, and around 20 years in our own family retail business… Art has always been in the back of my mind.  I am very crafty and I love face painting . sewing . knitting . drawing . gardening and I appreciate any art form!

It all started June 1994 when my daughter was a toddler, I would do face painting at our yearly Father’s Day Fundraising Event or help kids paint T-shirts for them to give to their dads.  I would paint my daughter’s face for special occasions like Halloween - Birthday parties.  And when I retired I visited my daughter in New York and saw this lady paint children’s faces at Schwartz Toy Store and I knew then that I wanted to give this a try and make children’s heart sing!

As an artist, I make it my goal to perfect my art.  I am continuously improving my skills. Over the past 10 years, I have been actively involved with the North American Face Painting industry. I regularly attend workshops and training seminars, like FABAIC (Face & Body Art International Convention) in Orlando, Florida. I’ve taken many classes with world renowned artists over the years such as Mark Reid, Jinny, Heather Green, Jenny Saunder, Jody Rife,  Jo Bertram,  Cameron  Garrett  Ksenia and many other artists through Faba TV Workshops Collections.

I only use professional water based face paints that are FDA approved & cosmedic grade glitter. Some of the brands that I use are Mehron, Wolfe, TAG,  Kryvaline, C & FAB. Vegan friendly face paints and glitters are available.

I always work in a neat, clean workspace. Brushes and sponges are always thoroughly cleaned and sanitised after each job, and water is changed regularly.
